Vitamin E supplements that contain only tocopherols do not provide the
maximum benefits. Although tocopherols are very important for health, they lack many of the synergistic advantages that their cousins - the
tocotrienols - offer. Few people know that vitamin E is a group of eight different compounds.
Commercial supplements focus only on four of them - tocopherols, tocotrienols, and tocotrienols.
Commercial preparations contain only four of these - the tocopherols - and omit the tocotrienols, which are very important for health. Due to their small but significant structural differences, tocotrienols may be more
involved in insightful biological processes.

Tocotrienols are commonly classified as molecules of the vitamin E group,
which mainly consists of compounds called tocopherols. However, we can
consider this as a kind of historical background, as we now know that despite its similar structure, the most widespread tocotrienol in the diet
has hardly 1% of the activity of the most active tocopherol as vitamin E.
