The plant is found in Europe, Asia, and North America, usually in moist and shady areas such as forests, clearings, thickets, and slopes. St. John's Wort is used in naturopathy, where it is applied among other things for skin diseases, to support the urinary tract, and to relieve symptoms of rheumatism and arthritis.
