Squalane is a unique active ingredient, a derivative of squalene, colorless and odorless. It was discovered during studies by Japanese scientists that showed large amounts of squalene in the shark's liver, giving it the ability to live at great depths where there is no light, plenty of oxygen and extremely low temperatures. Shamasa's squalane comes from olives. It is an extremely valuable oily substance of light consistency, fat-soluble.
