The rocket (Latin name Origanum vulgare L.), popularly known as oregano, is a spice and medicinal plant that is widespread throughout Europe.

An extract of these herbs increases the secretion of saliva, digestive juices and mucus (especially in the mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract). Oregano has powerful antioxidant properties, and one study even found it to be 42 times more active than apples. This is due to the synergistic action of phenolic compounds, especially rosmarinic acid, which is also responsible for antioxidant properties and protecting the DNA code.

The main components of oregano are: volatile oils (thymol and carvacol) . There are also bitterness, tannins and rosmarinic acid.
