MMS is a stabilized and pure oxygen solution of sodium chlorite in distilled water. When mixed with a small dose of lemon juice, lime, vinegar, or diluted citric acid, it becomes acidic and also easily becomes unstable, releasing chlorine dioxide (ClO2) gas. After the MMS APPLICATION , the harmful microorganisms are completely oxidized (destroyed) within a few hours. MMS does not destroy useful strains. After using the MMS solution, only small amounts of sodium chloride (NaCl), ie common salt, remain.
