Solgar's product is a source of plant-based phytosterols. The phytosterols in the preparation occur in a natural complex, just like in nature (beta-sitosterol, stigmasterol, campesterol, brassicasterol). The diet of primitive peoples provided an average of 1 g of phytosterols per day. Phytosterols (also called plant sterols) are similar to cholesterol, which is a structural component of our cell membranes. Phytosterols play a similar role in plant cell membranes. Because of the nearly identical molecular structure of phytosterols and cholesterol, the body has trouble distinguishing between them. Therefore, plant phytosterols naturally bind to cholesterol receptors in the gut more quickly and are absorbed instead. The research conducted has shown that the consumption of phytosterols in the form of a phytosterol complex in an amount of 2 g per day can reduce the level of total cholesterol by 6-15% and LDL (bad) cholesterol by 8-15% in the first three weeks after starting.

USE
2 capsules 2 times a day.
Best taken with a meal or as indicated.
