Almond flour is nothing but a product made from ground almond seeds. This plant from the rose family is found in natural conditions in Asia Minor and Central. Nevertheless, its numerous cultivated plants can also be found today in Europe (with a special focus on the Mediterranean region) . Unfortunately, weather conditions in Poland are not favorable for growing this plant. Nevertheless, we can also find some representatives of this amazing tree in this country.
Almonds, because that's what almond kernels are called, are considered one of the healthiest nuts. Interestingly, there are two varieties worldwide. The first, characterized by a sweet taste, are widely used in cooking and tasty almond flour is made from them. The second, characterized by a bitter taste due to its high anticancer potential, is widely used in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. Worth knowing: Both almonds and the flour made from them are not only tasty, but above all a real treasure trove of valuable nutrients for health. These include protein and essential unsaturated fats (including monounsaturated fat and polyunsaturated fat) . This product is also able to provide our body with valuable minerals such as magnesium, phosphorus, calcium and potassium, as well as irreplaceable vitamins (with a special emphasis on vitamin E, considered by many to be the vitamin of youth) < /em>
Although almond flour has been relatively popular on the Polish market for a relatively short time, it turns out that it was used as early as the 13th century. Back then it was the basis of the Italian dessert, consisting of almond flour, eggs, butter and sugar. Interestingly, one admirer of this delicacy was said to be St. Francis of Assisi. Medieval literature also contains information about the use of ground almonds to thicken soups and sauces. Almond flour is a creamy powder with a pleasantly sweet taste. Most importantly, in addition to being extremely tasty and useful in the kitchen, it can have a positive impact on our health and everyday well-being.
